Punat is a small settlement, as well port and marina. It is settled on the eastern part of the Puntarska (Kosljunska) Cove. Punat was named after a bridge (lat. pons) which used to connect Prniba peninsula with the eastern coast of island Krk. Today, this small city Punat counts about 1700 inhabitants.
