Baska is also of a big historical importance to people of Croatia. In Baska they have found a document with which Croats have can confirm the existence of a Croatia state. This document is called Bascanska ploca and it has been made around year 1100.
Even when you put aside the historical meaning of Baska and its good connections with other islands and with a mainland, people are mostly coming only to relax and for the exceptional nature beauties.
Baska is proud to be in the possession of one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Krk. The beach in Baska is about 1800 meters long and it is covered with thin pebbles. On the shore there are colourful houses of the town of Baska, beyond them are naked and lonely hills.
You can come to the old town of Baska from the beach using a steep stairway. In the hot summer, the old town of Baska will welcome you with pleasantly cold little, narrow streets that will cool you after a pleasant and fulfilling day on the beach under the sun.
In such a pleasurable surrounding of the town Baska, it is mostly very hard for people to say goodbye, even if they didn’t expect it after a first contact with the island of Krk.
