Beaches on the island of Pag





Opinions about the island of Pag are often shared – people either adore or hate it for some identical reasons. Some are very fond of its similarity to the moons rocky environment, some are appalled by this fact. Of course, that is the truth and reality – parts of the island of Pag are exceptionally rocky and without any vegetation. Anyway, just one evening on one of its marbled beaches can be enough to fall in love to this rare for the rest of your life. Now, I’ll tell you a bit about some of those beautiful beaches.

The trendiest and the most visited one is for certain – Zrce, something like Croatian Ibiza – hundred percent party beach. When you are coming to this beach leave your car in the parking lot facing the beach area. Zrce beach is enclosed by thin forest filled with paths all leading right to the beach. The beach itself is white pebbly and the sea is crystal clean. Three open air clubs that offer superior fun and quality music are pleasant addition to this gorgeous beach, just made for you, party lovers. All modern facilities are at your disposal starting with lifeguards and first aid, showers, telephones, all sorts of rental facilities for your days of vacation to the motorboats and speedboats, as like as inevitable windsurfing boards.

Old Novalja (Stara Novalja) is a home to the Trincel beach, aiming north from the city of Novalja on the island of Pag. This beach is all out of soft sand and bordered by typical Pags flora. Even the road in direction to the centre of Old Novalja is in close proximity to this beach. The beach is equipped with beach volley courtyard, waterslide for children, cabins for dressing, toilet, showers, all sorts or equipment rentals (canoe, peddle boats, lounge chairs and umbrellas), there is also a fast food bar at the beach, mini bar to be found at the centre of the beach, inevitable huge parking area, first aid and lifesaving kit and lifeguards of course. This beach is a magnet for countless tourists because of its purity and splendour.

Sv. Duh is one of the most beautiful among sandy beaches and beaches at all on the island of Pag. It is to be found about 10 kilometres on the east from the city of Novalja. Sv. Duh is around 5 km long and it is linked to the beach Eista, also a sandy beach, on the St. Duhs other side. Beach is divided on two approximately equal halves among textiles and nudists.

Kosljun beach is placed on the fraction of island Pags ground that is opened in the direction of the south-west. There the Jugo (south wind) and Bura (north-eastern wind) get together. This on one occasion harbour roofed by pine trees is a perfect place for romantic escape particularly at sunset when you can witness the sun sinking into the sea.

South western part of the island of Pag hides also the Povljana beach. The low sea and gentle sand are perfect for little children who take pleasure in constructing sand fortresses in the gentle wind. Povljana is like made for a peaceful family vacation.

One fishing village with a modern harbour can also be found on the south western part of the island of Pag, in the constructively located cove of Simuni. The beach there is for the most part pebbled. Small parts are of soft sand and are ideal for children to play and have first steps in swimming. Because of its good location, Simuni represents also the quality place for deep sea fishing and windsurfing. In close proximity to the beach (part that belongs to the campsite) there is a sports centre including courts for tennis, table tennis and mini golf. Motorboats, equipment for windsurfing, paddle boats and scooters can be rented on the beach itself.
