Beaches on the island of Korcula
Island of Korcula has some very good beaches and here I’ll present to you some of them. First place take sandy beaches Vela Przina and Bilin Zal and on the second is pebble beach Pupnatska Luka. Those are the finest and the trendiest, some are much smaller and more sheltered beaches and are spread all over the beautiful island of Korcula.
Pupnatska luka is gorgeous small pebbled beach with crystal clean water, positioned in the bay of Pupnatska Luka, about 15 kilometres out of the city of Korcula. The sea there is rich of fishes, starfishes and all sorts of water plants. Its colour fluctuates from light green and blue to greatest deep blue you have ever seen.
This beach is perfect for snorkelling or to do sub as well as superb and also accepted swimming spot. From the city of Korcula there is daily bus connection to the village of Pupnat so you don’t have to worry about transport if you don’t have a car of your own. As an alternative to this city transport, you can also rent a car, rent a scooter or even a bike and do a bit of road tripping. Good local food and refreshments you can get in couple of nice restaurants in the bay.
Now let us go back to those two sandy beaches worth of pointing out – Bilin Zal and Vela Przina. They are to be found close to the village of Lumbarda, about 6 km to the east from the city of Korcula. Przina is a longer beach and in the summer season it gets before time overflowing with tourists and local people. The beach is completely natural sandy, all made of fair sand. The view from this beach offers you much open sea and the island of Lastovo. If you have kids, this beach is a perfect solution as for its facilities and convenience at all. Cold drinks, ice cream and snacks you can get in the little restaurant in close vicinity.
Bilin Zal is a bit smaller, also sandy beach in the close proximity to the village of Lumbarda. This beach is very much accepted by tourists and the locals that fill it starting from the early summer. It is also suitable for small children. This beach can be reached also by taxi boat.
On the island of Korčula there are also some nudist beaches which I’ll list below.
Isle of Prozid is often called ‘the island of love’ and it hosts one of the most famous and visited nudist beaches in this area. It is to be found directly outside of the cove of Vela Luka. The sea there is crystal clean and the nature intact and fascinating. This beach is of white pebbles and has no facilities whatsoever, only one restaurant about 15 minutes walk from the very beach. The biggest benefit of the beach is that there are no pointed rocks so you can enjoy yourself barefooted.
Lenga nudist beach is also an option for you if in search for FKK. Not all people there are nudist; textiles can also be found there. There is also Vaja beach, a bit wilder beach, but very well accepted as a great place for swimming. Also some natural caves are to be found in the vicinity of this beach.
Nudists are going to find a lot of pleasure on two small islands immediately across the city of Korcula.
