Beaches on the island of Hvar
Hvar is one of the most beautiful and certainly the most vibrant island among all on Croatia’s seashore. Indeed, it is a trendy and world wide accepted tourist destination. If your vacation destination is the island of Hvar, be sure that you won’t be disappointed about its beaches.
Good choice is one of beaches near the little village Milna, some 4 kilometres south east from the city of Hvar. There are four gorgeous beaches, shaped like lagoons, enclosed by pine trees, vineyards and agaves. Two of those beaches are in the very village of Milna, other two are in close neighbourhood.
Beaches are small pebbled and you can even get some shade in the forest that surrounds them. As they are oriented to the south, the water is warm and clear. Milna beaches can be reached by car, by bus or on foot. There is also organized transportation from Hvar docks by a boat for some 20 minutes.
The biggest beach on the island of Hvar is to be found on its southern coast – that is Dubovica! Little cove that hold this beach is half-moon shaped and the beach is entirely of white pebbles. On its right side there is little village consist of a small church and 5 stone houses. One of those houses is something like a small restaurant where you can have yourself a nice meal.
One more beautiful and worth visiting beach on the island of Hvar is the beach in Sveta Nedelja. This beach is pretty much exotic and famous by its special sort of sand that is a rarity on Croatia seashore. The seawater is more than wonderful – crystal clean and warm.
Zavala beach is known for its clearest water, but it is not at all suitable for children because it is made out of huge asymmetrical stones. This you can take as an advantage if you are alone or a couple and want a bit of privacy and peace.
Most wanted Hvar’s beaches are spread on close by Pakleni islands. There you can find the beach of your taste. You can go on rocky or pebble beach or even a nudist beach. Pakleni islands have many bathing places and countless small, secluded beaches.
The trendiest ones are:
Sv. Jerolim, nudist beach for the most part rocky, also with nice little sand beach. The flora comes almost right down to the shore. It is a combination of bush and pines wood. There you can find inevitable showers and very good restaurant.
Marinkovac - This island has three famous inlets consisting beaches. Stipanska is the stop for taxi boats that makes your arrival easier. With the same taxi boat you can come also to Sv.Jerolim. Stipanska beach has a small shop, restaurant, showers and its own nudist section.
West of Stipanska beach, you can find Zdrilica bay with a quality restaurant habitually visited by yacht crowd. In Mlin bay you can find a nice pebbly beach.
All of those beaches are in general clothing optional so you can decide for yourself if you want or don’t want to have your swimsuit on.
Sv. Klement is the biggest island in the archipelago of Pakleni islands. There you can get by a taxi boat in a nice 20 minutes ride. St.Clement island is among people often called Palmizana. Palmizana, as a matter of fact, is this islands most popular and spacious sandy beach.
Anyway, if you want to stay away from the crowd, you can take a little stroll along the island and find a perfect place just for you.
